Request

How to request a device

A short public path — start at the school, keep papers you already have, and finish with a fit that the child can use in class.

Talk to the school

Tell the teacher or head what blocks reading, hearing, moving or joining — everyday examples help more than labels.

Complete the form

Use the sample request forms under Downloads & Forms. Incomplete files are OK at first; the desk will list what is missing.

Assessment note

Where a short assessment is needed, the school or district desk guides the next appointment — details confirmed by the Directorate.

Fit and train

When a tool is approved, the child, carer and teacher get a short orientation so it is used safely and returned on time.

Care

Training and maintenance

A device only helps if the child, family and teacher know how to use it — and who to call when it fails.

  • Short use guideAt handover, families and teachers get plain steps for charging, carrying and classroom use.
  • Fit with a technicianAdjustments happen with the child present so comfort and learning both work from day one.
  • Report faults earlyTell the device desk if something breaks or feels unsafe — do not attempt repairs at home.
  • Loan periodsKeep the loan card with the tool and return it on time. Exact periods are confirmed by the desk.
